The Kissing Booth

The Story :The main character, Elle Evans and her best friend Lee Flynn are trying to conjure an idea for their booth at their school's carnival. Elle is recruited by the OMG girls to try and get Lee's old er brother, Noah to do the booth, but will Elle's crush on Noah get in the way?
Summary:Elle Evans (Joey King) and Lee Flynn (Joel Courtney) have been inseparable from birth. The two have a set of rules that they both have to follow, so nothing gets in the way of their friendship. Rule #9 is especially hard for Elle to follow because it states that "Relatives are off limits", especially bad boy Noah (Jacob Elordi). The movie reminds me of The Duff (2015) as Elle's personality is similar to that of Bianca in that movie. Moving on, Elle has a dramatic first day at school involving a ripped pair of pants, stares, a fight, a visit to the Principal's office, detention and a date with a senior called Tuppen. However, Elle is stood up by this so-called player due to a threat made by Noah, this infuriates Elle, who can't understand why Noah would care so much, but Tuppen had mistake written all over his bruised face, to be honest.

Elle and Lee finally decide on doing a kissing booth for the school's carnival. Elle convinces the kissing booth version of mean girls, the OMG girls to work the booth by revealing that the mysterious Noah Flynn has a crush on one of them. It works but they get mad when they find out that Noah isn't doing the Kissing Booth and the OMG girls try to get payback on Elle, so they send Elle to kiss a nerdy boy in line, but Noah and him switches places in the line and she kisses him instead! She doesn't realize until she takes off her blindfold.
In short, they begin to see each other secretly and they have a fight at a party, but they later come up with rules for their relationship; the most obvious being that Lee never finds out. Eventually, Lee finds out about their relationship and ignores her until they finally make up at the arcade. Elle ends up going to prom with Lee and his girlfriend, Rachel. They feature the kissing booth and Noah comes out and surprises her, but she runs off. At their joint birthday party, Elle decides to go to Noah and tells Lee that she loves him. He finally accepts her feelings for him and agrees to help Elle find him. However, it's revealed that Noah is in Lee's costume as she's driving. She admits her feelings for him and they get back together, spending all their time together before Noah has to leave for college.

What I loved about it:
I loved how it's very relatable for younger people as some of the popular rom-coms such as clueless or 10 Things I Hate About You are both made in the late 90s, so it can be hard for millennials to find some stuff appealing. The chemistry between the cast was very believable, especially Elle and Lee who really seemed as they could be best friends who share everything, including their birthday.
